BIBLE PROPHECY UPDATE 2012

“Behold, the former things have come to pass, and I declare new things; Before they spring forth, I tell you of them." (Isaiah 42:9) “Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning; And from ancient times [declaring] things that are not yet done.” (Isaiah 46:9-10) "I have declared the former things from the beginning; They went forth from My mouth, and I caused them to hear it. Suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.” (Isaiah 48:3)

When you read the Bible’s Old & New Testaments in their entirety, many of the predictions of future events yet-to-come (prophecy) begin to look familiar. Like pieces of a gigantic jigsaw puzzle, the events occurring in our own lifetime are revealing God’s ingenious plan for the “End Times” before His final return. The Book of Daniel, written some 2600 years ago, made bold predictions of the rise and fall of the Persian, Greek, and Roman empires hundreds of years before they occurred. The book also predicted THE ACTUAL DATE of the appearance of the Jewish Messiah – Jesus – and His entering the Eastern gate of Jerusalem! Daniel also predicts the appearance of a future world leader, the “Anti-Christ,” as he is popularly called. The final world-dominating empire, which he will lead, has yet to be formed. Will we see it soon? Are we close to the end of the world, as we know it?

The Bible continues to make many startling predictions with uncanny accuracy! God, through the prophet Ezekiel, for instance, predicts the restoration of Israel and its scattered inhabitants, returning to its land with its original ancient language of Hebrew, its belief in the one, true living God, and with its former government structure, customs, and traditions totally intact. On May 14, 1948, this event actually happened!

No civilization  on earth, with its land destroyed and its inhabitants dispersed throughout the world, has EVER returned to its original state. Israel is the sole exception, and God said it would happen. And it did!  “Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, where I have driven them in My anger, in My fury, and in great wrath; I will bring them back to this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely. 'They shall be My people, and I will be their God.” (Jeremiah 32:37-38)

The Dead Sea Scrolls Have Been Dated To 153 BC

Because of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947 – the most significant archeological find in history – we now have copies of the books of the major Biblical prophets dated to 150 years BEFORE Jesus was born, thus confirming the more than 300 prophecies of the coming Messiah, our Lord Jesus Christ! You and I are extremely fortunate to have been born during this time in history. Together, we are witnessing the End Times Prophecy of the Bible, unfolding before our very eyes. Please join us this Sunday, as we review news events from 2012, including Iran’s goal to acquire nuclear weapons and destroy Israel, its defense alliance with Russia, and other events of today that are clearly found in Bible Prophecy!

When Jesus appeared to His disciples after His resurrection in His new, glorified body, He told them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ (the Messiah King) to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations." (Luke 24:46-47) This is the true "gospel," the "good news" that ministers of our Lord are commanded to preach: repentance of your sins with the promise of everlasting life with Him in heaven.

Your faith in this promise "comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17)  There is no other way to eternal life after you die.  Please join us this Sunday and learn what God has to say about your future, as written in His inspired Holy Word... the Bible. Become a REAL Christian... a true follower of Jesus Christ. He gave up His life so that we -- each and every one of us -- might have eternal life!

Paul, in his letters to the early Church, tells us that it is our friend, Jesus Christ, who saves us from sin and gives us a resurrected body and eternal life -- we do not save ourselves.  Trying to be "a good person" or doing good deeds does not lead to salvation. To both Jews and pagans, Paul preached "repentance of sin toward God and faith commitment toward our Lord Jesus Christ."  (Acts 20:21)  It is only by our repentance of sin (turning away from it) and direct commitment to Jesus Christ -- not belonging to a particular religion, following a church denomination, or doing "good works" -- that changes in our life and our eternal salvation are assured.

Peter  tells us how easy it is to find salvation: "Repent and  be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38)  Are you ready to receive the free gift of eternal life from your new-found friend, Jesus Christ?

Each week's study is taught by Pastor Jason Gant, bringing you the loving and living Word of God from the Bible, chapter-by-chapter, verse-by-verse. Everyone is welcomed, and transportation is happily provided.  Attendees at this Sunday's service will have the opportunity to ask their Bible questions and take part in a brief discussion period after the teaching.  Our "Coffee & Carbs Fellowship" follows immediately afterwards. For more information, please call 310-510-3003 or visit our website at www.calvarybiblechurch.com.  Can't join us this Sunday? Then call our toll-free 24-Hour Prayer Line 1-866-Holy-Word (465-9967).
